GCash has introduced a Virtual US Account feature that could be a big help for Filipino freelancers getting clients abroad.
The GCash Virtual US Account service is powered by Meridian, a global payments network. It provides Filipino freelancers an avenue to earn income from foreign clients with minimal fees.

With the new service, GCash promises lower forex costs and platform fees, while also eliminating withdrawal fees to the Philippines and hidden charges.
It is available to GCash users with a fully verified account. Eligible users will be able to open accounts and transfer funds to payroll and payment platforms like PayPal, Gusto, Upwork, Fiverr, Onelinejobs.ph, Payoneer, and Deel.
This feature is expected to boost the US dollars coming into the Philippines.
“With the GCash Virtual US Account, we’re enabling Filipino freelancers to take full control of their hard-earned income, allowing them to maximize every peso they earn,” said GCash General Manager for International Paul Albano.
