Filipino telecommunications companies are earning recognition on the world stage, with three brands now sitting among the top 100 strongest globally.
A recent report from Brand Finance, a brand valuation firm, showed that Globe, Smart, and PLDT all made significant improvements in the latest rankings. The findings point to steady growth in the country’s digital services sector.
Globe was the top performer among Philippine firms. It landed in 10th place worldwide and received a high rating for brand strength. The company also reported a 5 percent increase in brand value, hitting $1.4 billion. Growth in its fiber broadband service helped drive these results, with subscriber numbers going up by 35 percent.

Smart made the biggest jump among local players. It moved up 22 spots to take 31st place. PLDT also stayed in the top 100 and saw its brand value rise to $1 billion, thanks to stronger earnings from its data and broadband services.
Converge ICT also made it back into the global list, landing at 138th place. Its brand value grew by 19 percent to $299 million, largely due to its residential broadband business.
In total, six Philippine telecom brands were included in the rankings. The other two were TM and TNT.
Analysts said the gains show how local telcos are moving beyond just building networks. They are now focusing more on digital services and customer experience, which is helping them compete on a larger scale.
Globally, the top 150 telecom brands were valued at over $740 billion this year. Deutsche Telekom remained the most valuable brand worldwide.
