Google is making a major push into the smart home by integrating its powerful Gemini artificial intelligence directly into a new lineup of products. The company has announced, “Gemini for Home,” a new AI system, alongside updated Nest security cameras and a dedicated Google Home Speaker.

The new devices include the third-generation Nest Cam Indoor, the second-generation Nest Cam Outdoor, and a new Nest Doorbell. All three feature upgraded sensors that record video in a sharper 2K resolution with HDR.

This improved video quality is key to enabling Gemini for Home’s advanced features. Instead of just showing you that motion was detected, the cameras can now send alerts with specific text descriptions, like “a dog jumps out of a playpen,” accompanied by a short video clip.

The cameras offer other practical upgrades. You can digitally zoom in on specific areas of the video feed. The event video history, which stores clips of detected activity, has been doubled from 3 hours to 6 hours for this new generation. The cameras also have a wider aperture, allowing them to capture full-color video for longer periods during dawn and dusk, in addition to standard night vision.

For visibility, the Nest Cam Indoor and Outdoor have a 152-degree field of view. The Nest Doorbell has an even wider 166-degree view with a square aspect ratio, designed to show both a visitor’s face and packages on the ground. The Outdoor camera and Doorbell have an IP65 weather-resistance rating, meaning they are built to withstand rain, snow, and wind.

The new Nest Cam Indoor is priced at $100(~Php5,800). The Nest Cam Outdoor costs $150(~Php8,600), or $250(~Php14,500) for a two-pack. These cameras are available in the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland.

The Nest Doorbell costs $180(~Php10,500) and is available only in the United States and Canada for now.

Alongside the cameras, Google introduced a new Google Home Speaker, engineered specifically to work with Gemini. It features 360-degree audio and has built-in processing to make AI interactions faster. A colored LED ring on the device lights up to indicate when Gemini is listening, thinking, or responding.

This new speaker can be paired with other Home or Nest speakers for multi-room audio or for stereo sound. It can also connect to the Google TV Streamer 4K. The Google Home Speaker will be available in Spring 2026 for $100(~Php5,800). It will launch in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
