Google is expanding its AI-powered video tools by bringing Veo 3’s image-to-video generation feature to the Gemini app. The feature, first announced at Google’s I/O 2025 event in May, allows users to turn still images into short video clips with sound.
Google AI Ultra and Pro subscribers can generate up to three (3) 8-second videos per day within the Gemini app. To create a video, users select “Videos” from the prompt box toolbar, choose an image from their gallery, and provide instructions for animations, visuals, and audio. The AI then processes the request and produces a dynamic video in minutes.
Google suggests users can “animate everyday objects, bring drawings to life, or add movement to nature scenes.” The finished clips can be downloaded or shared directly. The feature is rolling out now in select countries and is also available on Google’s Flow filmmaking tool.

All AI-generated videos will include a visible watermark and an invisible SynthID digital watermark for authenticity. Users can rate the results with thumbs-up or thumbs-down feedback to help improve the model.
Since its launch, Veo 3 has already been used to create over 40 million videos across Gemini and Flow, signaling strong interest in AI-generated content among regular consumers.
