Grab’s latest service, the GrabTaxi Electric, has entered the beta phase in the Philippines.

The new GrabTaxi Electric Beta is now available for booking for passengers around Metro Manila, in places like Taguig, Pasig, Makati, Pasay, Paranaque, and Mandaluyong. Grab apparently uses a fleet of VinFast electric vehicles (EVs) for the pilot.

Upon checking, the EV option can cost much less than the standard 4-seater vehicle.

A ride from SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City to Jupiter Street, Makati will cost around Php319-Php383 with GrabTaxi Electric, versus the Php342 cost on the standard GrabCar 4-seater ride.
