HUAWEI foldable phones seem to be a big hit in their home country.
A report from the mobile market research firm IDC said that the foldable market in China is dominated by HUAWEI. In fact, it dominates so much that it owns more than half of the market share: 68.9% to be exact.
An incredible number that makes up for the brand’s shaky performance globally.

They are followed by HONOR, which owns 11.2% of the market, followed by vivo with 5%, OPPO with 4.9%, and Samsung with 4.3%.
It seems like the push to make foldables thinner is a success. Samsung’s inclusion on the top 5 list is surprising, and it’s apparently due to the Galaxy Z Fold7 that’s been hailed as one of the thinnest foldables ever.

The Chinese foldable market shipped 2.63 million units in Q3 2025. That’s a 17.8% increase from the same quarter last year.
IDC’s latest data also shows how the market adaptation has improved in the country. From the start of the year, all brands collectively shipped 7.62 million, which is 14.3% higher than last year.
The research firm expects the total foldable shipments will reach 10 million for the whole of 2025.
