Meta just released a new AI model called Muse Spark. The company says this one is different as it’s built to actually help people with everyday stuff, not just give fancy answers.
Muse Spark comes from Meta Superintelligence Labs. The team spent nine months rebuilding their technology from scratch. This is the first model in a new series, and it’s designed to be small and fast. But despite that, Meta says that it can still handle tough questions in science, math, and health.
The Meta AI app and website are getting an upgrade right now. You can choose between two speeds. One gives you quick answers. The other takes more time to think through harder problems.
Here’s a real example. Say you’re planning a trip to with your family. The new AI can run multiple tasks at the same time. One part works on the schedule. Another compares different cities. A third looks for fun kids’ activities. You get a complete answer much faster than before.
Most AIs only read text, but Muse Spark can look at images too. Take a photo of a shelf snacks and ask which one has the most protein, and the model should let you know how much they have, as long as it knows them.
This works for products too. Scan something and ask how it compares to other brands. The company says this feature will be even better when it comes to their AI glasses in the next few weeks.
Health is another big area and Meta worked with real doctors to train the model. Now you can ask health questions and even share images or charts.
The new Meta Muse Spark model is also good at coding. You can ask it to build a simple website or create a small retro game to play with friends.
Meta connected the AI to what people already post on Instagram, Facebook, and Threads. There’s also a shopping feature that pulls ideas from creators you follow.
The update starts rolling out in the US on the Meta AI app and website. In the coming weeks, it will reach more countries around the world.
