Pebble has a significant place in wearable history. They are one of the pioneers of affordable and no-fuss smartwatches. Despite a huge fanbase, it failed to compete with other tech giants and was sold to Fitbit in 2016.
CEO Eric Migicovsky announced earlier this year that Pebble is making a comeback. However, they didn’t own the trademark, so they called their first two new devices the Core 2 Duo and Core Time 2.

Now, Migicovsky announced that they were able to recover the Pebble name.
“That means you too can use the word Pebble for Pebble related software and hardware projects,” he said in an X post.

Even after its heyday — and the existence of more modern and advanced smartwatches — diehard fans still lauded how great and incomparable the Pebble is. There’s something about how straightforward and effective those smartwatches are that appeals to many people that nothing of the newer tech can match.
That said, we now have the new Pebble 2 Duo and Pebble Time 2, and we’re expecting to see more in the future.
