Razer has just unveiled two new webcams designed for streamers and creators, the Razer Kiyo V2 and the more budget-friendly Razer Kiyo V2 X. The new models aim to deliver high-quality video and smart features at a more accessible price point than the company’s professional-grade Kiyo Pro line.
Starting at $100, the Razer Kiyo V2 X covers the essentials. It can record video at 720p resolution at 60 or 30 frames per second, 1080p at 24, 30, or 60 frames per second, and 1440p at 60 frames per second. It has an 83-degree field of view, which is wide enough to fit a person and their background comfortably. This view can be adjusted using Razer’s Synapse software. The webcam includes standard features like auto focus, a privacy shutter to block the lens, and a built-in microphone.
For users wanting higher quality, the $150 Razer Kiyo V2 steps things up significantly. It uses an 8.3-megapixel Sony STARVIS image sensor to capture true 4K HDR video at 30 frames per second. Its field of view is also wider than the V2 X model, at 93 degrees.
This extra space enables a key new feature: auto framing. Through software from Reincubate’s Camo Studio, the Kiyo V2 can automatically keep you centered in the frame as you move, similar to Apple’s Center Stage. The software also allows for background removal and can adjust lighting in real time to improve your image.
Both webcams are available for purchase starting today. The Razer Kiyo V2 X is priced at 100 dollars (~Php5,800), while the more advanced Kiyo V2 costs 150 dollars (~Php8,700). With its competitive pricing and 4K HDR capabilities, the Kiyo V2 presents itself as a strong contender in the market for high quality webcams.
