samsung-galaxy-s7-rear-camera-glass-shatters-mysteriously

2016 should have been a good year for Samsung; the S7 and S7 Edge were well received and the Galaxy Note 7 was shaping up to be the best Android phone for the year until someone probably screamed ‘halt and catch fire’ at it and it all went up in flames.

The damage was so bad that Samsung had to pull off the Galaxy Note 7 from the market. But the negative publicity caused by the Galaxy Note 7 is something that will always be remembered. Following that incident, Samsung has turned its focus to the Galaxy S8 which is expected to launch a little late this year.

However, it seems 2016 is not yet done with Samsung as some owners have reported issues with their Galaxy S7. The first reported case was covered by The Consumerist last week and said that a Galaxy S7 owner named Sean woke up to see that the glass covering the rear camera of his phone was broken which was surprising to him since the phone was left untouched and in a case overnight. The damage left a hole in the centre of the camera and looks like it exploded from the inside ruling out the case of the lens being damaged by an external force.

Samsung didn’t believe the story and refused to classify the repair as being under the repairs the warranty covers. But unfortunately for Samsung, the incident is not unique to Sean alone as some other owners have reported the same issue with their phones too. The Samsung Community website already has a thread of 22 pages which contains similar complaints.

A law firm by the name Keller Rohrback L.L.P. is taking up the case and wants to speak with S7 owners who have suffered the same fate and who have had their phones rejected by Samsung.

Do you or anyone you know has the same issue? Then you might want to check out this link which contains the contact information of the law firm.
