Spotify is increasing its subscription prices for users in several regions outside the U.S., including the Philippines, marking its second price hike in two years.

Over the next month, affected subscribers will receive an email detailing the new pricing. While costs vary by country, an example provided in the statement shows an increase of €1 per month, bringing the price to €11.99 (around $13.87).

In the Philippines, the changes are already visible on Spotify’s website. The Individual Plan now costs Php169, up from its previous price of Php149. The Family Plan has increased by Php30 to Php279, while the Student Plan now costs Php85, a Php20 jump from 2023 rates.

This follows a 2023 price adjustment that made Spotify more expensive than Apple Music in some markets. Spotify executives have defended the move, stating that the company focuses on long-term growth rather than short-term profits.

Other affected regions include South Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific. Subscribers in affected regions can expect notifications about the changes soon, with the new rates taking effect in the coming weeks.
