vivo celebrated its 30th anniversary by unveiling the vivo Vision Discovery Edition, its first-ever mixed reality headset. The launch event in Dongguan marked a strategic expansion for the company beyond smartphones into spatial computing, establishing vivo as the first Chinese tech company to compete in both markets simultaneously.
The vivo Vision mixed reality headset is designed for daily use, emphasizing comfort with a lightweight build of just 398 grams, 26% smaller than most industry devices. It includes multiple sizing options with four light seals and eight foam paddings for a personalized fit. Powered by the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 platform, it offers 15% faster graphics and 20% faster processing than previous chips, supporting smooth and immersive digital environments.
Visual performance is delivered through dual Micro-OLED screens offering 8K resolution and high color accuracy. Interaction is fully gesture and gaze-based, with high-precision eye tracking and hand movement recognition allowing users to navigate using pinch and swipe motions in the air without controllers.
Alongside the headset, vivo announced a significant upgrade to its imaging strategy, extending into health and authenticity features. A partnership with ZEISS will continue to enhance camera performance, while new in-house chips and algorithms will improve zoom and low-light photography.

One of the most innovative initiatives is a planned portable eye-examination tool using vivo’s telephoto macro technology and medical-grade optics. The company is also addressing digital trust by joining the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA), which will help users verify genuine and unaltered photos.
