In a joint press release, Xiaomi and Leica announced that they have enhanced their partnership.
For quick background, the partnership between the Chinese tech giant and the German camera company started in 2022, with Leica co-engineering mobile photography technology for flagship Xiaomi smartphones.
Now, they announced that they’re moving their partnership “from co-engineering to strategic co-creation.” Read the full statement below:
A lot of poetic words were used in the press release, so we’re not sure how deep the new partnership really went.
However, it’s pretty clear that the announcement has something to do with the upcoming global launch of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. On this device, we shall see the fruits of the renewed partnership between the two companies.
