Smart Communications Inc. launched its first 5G Standalone (SA) network in Iloilo in a jam-packed concert. Held at K-Town Festive Walk Parade, the event drew over 5,200 people.
The Smart 5G SA Network uses a dedicated 5G core network to provide lower latency, increased capacity, and faster speeds. This new technology is an important foundation for more advanced applications and capabilities that consumers can use for a better network experience.
Aside from the 5G SA Network, Smart also unveiled important network improvements to expand its 5G capacity and coverage.
With the said upgrade, consumers will experience advancements such as fast downloads and uploads, buffer-free streaming, and smooth, lag-free gaming.
Moreover, Smart also revealed exclusive offers for its 5G SA-ready devices from top smartphone brands such as vivo, HONOR, Samsung, OPPO, and ZTE.
The network’s free concert, themed “Sakses Ka Na!”, treated Ilonggos to stellar performances from local bands such as First Edition and Kreonz, along with rap artist Flow G and Ilonggo DJ Young.
In addition, celebrities such as veteran Ilonggo host Jordan Toledo and noontime show host Jackie Gonzaga graced the event with fun and exciting games and prizes.
The first in the country, Smart 5G SA rollout in Iloilo is part of PLDT Group’s nationwide effort to update infrastructure to provide better services to Filipinos.
