At long last, Samsung’s budget-friendly tablets, the Galaxy Tab A9 and Tab A9 Plus, have finally made it to the Philippines.
First, let’s recap the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 Plus, which is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor enabling its 5G connectivity. The unit we’re getting in the country has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

There’s a decent 11-inch 1.2K TFT display on the front with a 90Hz refresh rate, quad speakers, and a relatively small 7,040mAh battery with 15W charging. A 5-megapixel front camera is there for selfies and video calls, while on the back, we have a single 8-megapixel main shooter.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 Plus 8GB/128GB/5G variant has a price of Php18,990 while the 8GB/128GB/WiFi-only comes in at Php14,990.

Meanwhile, the cheaper Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 settles for a non-5G MediaTek Helio G99 processor but still manages to get LTE cellular connectivity if you’re always out and about, far from WiFi.
It also has a smaller 8.7-inch display with a standard 60Hz refresh rate, a 5,100mAh battery, but a similar 15W charging. The stereo speakers are now with two drivers, and the selfie camera now uses a 2-megapixel sensor.
The vanilla Galaxy Tab A9 with 4GB/64GB/LTE retails for Php10,990 while the 4GB/64GB/WiFi-only retails for Php8,990. The Galaxy Tab A9 series has been spotted on the Samsung PH website, Shopee, Lazada, and in physical stores nationwide.
