The best of the latest Pura 80 series, the HUAWEI Pura 80 Ultra, is pushing the envelope in mobile photography with a new innovative feature.
There’s a lot to like about the HUAWEI Pura 80 Ultra. But the most interesting one is the switchable telephoto lens. A mechanism moves the telephoto sensor between two lenses: 3.7x with an 83mm equivalent and f/2.4 aperture that’s great for portraits, or go far with a 9.4x zoom with a 212mm equivalent at f/3.6. Both have sensor-shift optical image stabilization.
Apart from the elaborate telephoto camera, the Pura 80 Ultra also has a large 1-inch RYYB main sensor with a variable aperture that goes from a bright f/1.6 to f/4.0 and also has OIS. The dynamic range has been improved by 15x with a record-breaking 16EV.
A sharp 40-megapixel ultra-wide lens is also included. Plus, different customizable photography styles to choose from.
A 13-megapixel sensor is used for selfies. It sits on top of the 6.8-inch LTPO OLED screen with a 1-120Hz refresh rate, 3000-nit peak brightness, and uses 2nd-gen Kunlun Glass.
The battery has a 5,700mAh capacity, with support for blazing-fast 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. Sadly, the chipset used hasn’t been confirmed yet.
For durability, the device has IP68/69-rated dust and water resistance, as well as the protection provided by the basalt-tempered material on the new Kunlun Glass.
First coming out of China, the Pura 80 Ultra will ship with HarmonyOS 5.1. It will only be available in two colors: Gold and Black.
The HUAWEI Pura 80 Ultra is now listed in China for CNY9,999 (~Php77,400) for the 16GB/512GB and CNY1,099 (~Php85,000) for the 16GB/1TB. No word yet if it’s coming to the Philippines.
