Big batteries have slowly helped mitigate the impact of the terrible price hikes of memory and storage. vivo is banking on that, and it’s evident with the new vivo V80 Lite.
The vivo V80 Lite boasts a large 10,000mAh battery, easily one of the biggest batteries ever found on the mainstream market. You might be thinking, “That’s already impressive.” But when you realize that it has a starting price of Php24,999, do you still feel the same way?
We put the device through its paces, testing everything from performance and cameras to its display and battery life, to see if it’s worth your time and money. This is our vivo V80 Lite review.

Design and Build Quality
The vivo V80 Lite definitely looks clean and sleek, but its design fails to stand out. The rear layout, with its square camera island, looks similar to many phones we’ve seen before.

vivo did try to make up for the rather familiar design with the Afterglow Pink colorway, which features an abstract paintbrush-like finish.

Our review unit is the Emerald Green variant, which delivers the elegant look vivo is going for. A Dawn Black option is also available for those who prefer a cleaner aesthetic.
The rear panel has a glass-like finish, which is unfortunately a fingerprint magnet. The frame feels solid and flat, with curved corners that make the phone comfortable and ergonomic to hold for hours.

At 224g, it’s on the heavier side compared to other phones, while its 8.6mm thickness also makes it relatively thick. However, after spending some time with it, portability was never an issue. It still feels comfortable to use, especially for a device with such a large battery.
Durability shouldn’t be an issue with the vivo V80 Lite, either. It received MIL-STD-810H certification for drop resistance and is also IP68/IP69-rated for dust and water resistance.

Overall, we’re satisfied with the design and build. It may not stand out, but it’s comfortable enough for daily use and durable enough to last for years.

Taking a tour around the device, there’s a large 6.83-inch AMOLED display on the front. The bezels are very thin, while the punch-hole cutout houses the 32-megapixel selfie camera.

The left side is clean, while the right side houses the volume controls and lock/power button.

The top has the noise-isolating microphone.

At the bottom, we have the USB-C port, a single loudspeaker, a microphone, and the SIM tray, which houses two nano SIMs. Sadly, there’s no microSD card slot.

On the back, there’s the 50-megapixel main camera, with the 2-megapixel depth sensor below it and the dual-tone flash on the right.
Display and Audio
The vivo V80 Lite comes with a large 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 2800 x 1260 pixel resolution and ~449ppi. It has a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and achieves 2,000 nits of peak brightness.

You can adjust the screen resolution and refresh rate for better efficiency. There are also eye comfort and protection options to help reduce eye strain. Widevine L1 is supported, along with HDR10 and HEVC on streaming platforms like Netflix.
Display quality is solid. It’s vibrant and gets bright enough for outdoor use, with no major issues there.

The stereo speakers are nice, too. They get very loud, with 150% and 200% volume boosters, and offer decent bass and treble. However, sound clarity could be better. Overall, they’re good enough for streaming and watching short videos.
Hardware and Performance
The vivo V80 Lite is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300e processor, which is a pretty underwhelming chip for a device at this price, especially with its Mali-G610 MC2 GPU. There’s 6GB of RAM and an option between 128GB and 256GB of non-expandable storage.
vivo V80 Lite Benchmark Scores
While the device makes up for it in other areas, hardware is definitely not its strongest feature. It’s not the best chip you can get at this price, and it shows. Day-to-day tasks are doable, but expect noticeable lags here and there.
Gaming performance is pretty decent, though. Still underwhelming for the price, but decent.

Genshin Impact was playable at 60 frames, but sadly, only at the Lowest preset. Asphalt Legends Unite also performed well.
PUBG Mobile ran smoothly under HD graphics at Ultra frames, while Call of Duty Mobile ran under Very High graphics and Max frames. Farlight84 also ran at HD graphics and 60 frames.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang ran very well at Extreme map quality and High frames. Asphalt Legends had no issues either at High Quality with 60 frames.
| Game | Graphics Settings |
| Genshin Impact | • Render Resolution: Lowest • Visual Effects: Low • SFX Quality: Lowest • Frame Rate: 60 |
| PUBG Mobile | • Graphics Quality: HD • Frame Rate: Ultra |
| Call of Duty: Mobile | • Graphics Quality: Very High • Frame Rate: Max |
| Farlight84 | • Graphics Quality: HD • Frame Rate: 60 |
| Mobile Legends: Bang Bang | • Resolution: HD • Map Quality: Extreme • Frame Rate: High |
| Asphalt Legends Unite | • Visual Quality: High Quality • Frame Rate: 60 |
Software and User Interface
The vivo V80 Lite 5G comes with Android 16-based OriginOS 6 software. It’s not clear how long vivo will support the device.

FuntouchOS was never about minimalism, even back when minimalism was the trend.
It can feel overwhelming at first, but once you get used to it, you start to appreciate how feature-dense and customizable it is, as well as how easily you can access its features.

It has many document AI features you’d come to expect, such as AI Summary, Continue Writing, and AI Caption.
However, the AI features in the Gallery feel lacking. We only have AI Erase and AI Color Adjust. There’s no AI Expand, AI Unblur, and so on.

For security, we have an optical fingerprint scanner and face unlock. Both worked fine during our tests.
Camera
The vivo V80 Lite has a 50-megapixel main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and PDAF. It’s joined by a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 32-megapixel selfie snapper. There’s no OIS, telephoto, or even an ultra-wide lens.

What’s worse, both the front and rear cameras can only shoot 1080p@30fps. 720p@120fps slow-mo is also available.
Other camera features include 50MP (Hi-Res) mode, Snapshot, Ultra HD Document, Underwater photography, Pro mode, and Time-lapse.
Daylight photos from the main camera have good dynamic range and color representation. However, details look a little cartoonish and overprocessed.
Low-light shots are surprisingly good. They’re well-exposed and sharp, while colors remain realistic.
The selfie camera disappoints with a weird bluish tint in most photos. Details are also terrible.
While the cameras are usable, we should already be getting better image quality from a device at this price.
Battery and Charging
The redeeming quality of the vivo V80 Lite is its enormous 10,000mAh 4th-gen Silicon Anode battery, which vivo claims can retain at least 80% of its battery health even after 1,400 full charge cycles. It’s paired with 44W fast charging.
It has one of the biggest batteries in its segment. In fact, it’s one of the biggest on any phone available today. Hence, it’s no surprise that it delivered the best battery scores in our tests for its category.
The device lasted for a whopping 30 hours and 9 minutes in the PCMark Synthetic Battery Test, while our 1080p YouTube Video Loop Test lasted for 27 hours and 38 minutes. That’s an incredible result.

With that much battery capacity, expect long charging times, especially with its 44W wired charging. But with a full charge taking about 2 hours, it’s actually not that bad. See the full charging test results below:
- 15mins: 0-14%
- 30mins: 27%
- 45mins: 38%
- 1hr: 49%
- 1hr 30mins: 71%
- 2hrs: 98%
- 2hrs 2mins: FULL
Verdict
The vivo V80 Lite is a phone built around one major advantage: battery life. Its massive 10,000mAh 4th-gen Silicon Anode battery delivers exceptional endurance, while the 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED display, durable build, and feature-rich interface round out a solid everyday package.

However, the compromises are difficult to ignore at Php24,999. The MediaTek Dimensity 7300e feels underpowered for its price, the camera setup is surprisingly basic, and the lack of an ultra-wide camera, telephoto lens, and OIS makes the photography experience feel behind the competition. The selfie camera is particularly disappointing.

Ultimately, the vivo V80 Lite is a niche offering. If long battery life is your top priority, its 10,000mAh battery is hard to beat. But if you want the best overall performance, camera experience, or value for your money, there are more well-rounded options in this price range.
