Intel and NVIDIA announced a new partnership that sent shockwaves across the industry. The two tech giants are joining forces to create a new class of hardware aimed at accelerating artificial intelligence and advanced computing.
The multi-faceted agreement centers on Intel manufacturing specialized chips for NVIDIA. These new processors will be designed to connect directly to NVIDIA’s components using its high-speed NVLink technology. This integration aims to combine the power of NVIDIA’s graphics and AI accelerators with the Intel x86 architecture that dominates the data center and PC markets.
The collaboration will start in two key areas. First, Intel will produce custom data center CPUs tailored for NVIDIA’s AI platforms. These chips are intended for the massive servers that run complex AI models and cloud services.

Second, the companies will co-develop new processors for the next generation of personal computers. These Intel-made chips will feature a unique design that incorporates technology from NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX graphics units directly onto the main processor. This could lead to more powerful and efficient laptops and desktops capable of handling demanding AI applications and gaming without the need for a separate graphics card.
Sealing off the agreement is a significant financial commitment. NVIDIA has revealed plans to invest $5 billion dollars to acquire Intel stock at a price of $23.28 per share. As of writing, this transaction is pending the approval of government regulators.
