The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) officially introduced One QR PH. The system replaces the old setup where stores had to display different QR codes for GCash, Maya, and other digital wallets. Now, one code works for all.
Before this change, customers often scanned the wrong code or got confused by mismatched formats. That slowed down lines and frustrated both buyers and sellers.
With One QR PH, people can open any participating bank or e-wallet app, scan the same QR, and complete the payment in seconds. The system runs on InstaPay, the central bank’s 24/7 transfer network, so transactions go through even on weekends and holidays.
Customers do not pay any fees when using One QR PH to pay merchants. Sellers absorb the charges instead, which makes the system a strong alternative to cash for everyday purchases.
Person-to-person transfers still have separate rules and may include fees depending on the app or bank used.
The numbers show that Filipinos are embracing digital payments. As of June 2026, QR-based transactions have surpassed 2.5 billion, with a total value exceeding Php1.1 trillion. Over 2 million stores and vendors across the country now accept QR payments.
