The vivo V series continues to find the right balance between form and function with its latest entry, the vivo V60.

vivo phones always had some of the sleekest designs we’ve ever reviewed. What’s more impressive is that they also have one of the longest battery life.

In our vivo V60 review, we’re expecting better longevity as it’s been upgraded to a 6,500mAh battery — all while maintaining an ultra-sleek build that’s just incredible to hold.

Obviously, there’s more to this device than its design and battery. We’ll be looking at all of them today, so read on.

Design and Build Quality

Apart from a slightly redesigned camera island, the vivo V60 looks and feels the same as before. The dual rear cameras are now separated into two lenses, but the layout, the smooth curves, and even the screen size are the same.

vivo-V60-Review

It is only 7.5 or 7.8mm thin, depending on the color, which is just about 0.1mm thicker than its predecessor. That’s still incredibly thin compared to most of its competition, and for a device with a large 6,500mAh battery. The V60 is also incredibly light at just 192/201g.

It’s available in three color options. The Summer Blue that we have is nice and clean, albeit starting to get boring as we’ve seen it plenty of times before.

The Berry Purple also looks very familiar, as well as the Mist Gray. All models have a matte plastic back panel that stays clean from fingerprint smudges.

Despite their sleek designs, the vivo V series is also known for its durability. The vivo V60 is no different, as it also received the same IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance certification. What’s actually impressive is that it can be submerged for up to 120 minutes, while its predecessor can only last up to 30 minutes.

The frame is made of plastic, while the front is protected by Schott Xensation Core glass. The device feels really solid with no flexing when we did a couple of light bend tests.

vivo-V60-Review-6002

vivo still includes a protective case for extra protection, and the good thing is it barely adds any bulk to this sleek smartphone.

Taking a tour, we have a 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen on the front, with a small punch-hole for the 50-megapixel selfie camera.

The left side is empty, while the right has the tactile physical buttons for volume adjustment and lock/power.

On the top, there’s the IR blaster and noise-isolating microphones.

The bottom has the loudspeaker, USB-C port, microphone, and the nano SIM tray for two nano SIMs. No slot for a microSD card.

We then have the two main cameras in an iPhone 16-like camera layout, with the ZEISS logo inside the island. The tertiary camera is on the outside, right on top of the ring LED flash.

The vivo V60 retains that sleek, comfortable, and durable design we love with the series.

Display and Audio

The vivo V60 comes with a 6.77-inch LTPS AMOLED display with a 2392 x 1080 pixel resolution (FHD+), ~387ppi, HDR10+, 120Hz refresh rate, and P3 colors.

As with most OLED displays, we were impressed with the color and contrast of the vivo V60’s panel. The screen brightness is satisfactory for outdoor use, too, albeit it settles for an LTPS tech instead of LTPO, so the screen refresh rate is capped at 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz.

Audio quality from the stereo speakers are good. The second speaker is not a dedicated driver and simply amplifies the small earpiece used for calls. Still, it’s powerful enough to provide a good stereo separation. Treble is clean and smooth, even at loud volumes, albeit the bass is very underwhelming.

Hardware and Performance

The vivo V60 is powered by a 2.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, an apt upgrade over its predecessor’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip. It has Adreno 722 graphics, with 12GB of RAM, and an option between 256GB and 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

vivo V60 Benchmark Scores

It may not be the best, but it’s definitely a good enough processor for the price. We got consistently good speeds when launching apps, video calls, web browsing, and more.

Gaming was also satisfactory with no overheating issues. Although I didn’t expect much from extra demanding games like Genshin Impact, it ran fine, but only under medium settings at 30 frames.

Optimized titles like PUBG Mobile were playable under HDR graphics with Extreme frames, as well as Call of Duty Mobile under Very High graphics at Max frames, and Farlight84 at HD graphics with 60 frames.

Lighter games like Mobile Legends were seamless on HD resolution and Ultra. The same goes for Asphalt Legends Unite at High Quality visuals with 90 frames.

Software and User Interface

The vivo V60 ships with Android 15-based FuntouchOS 15, and vivo pledged it will receive 4 years of Android OS upgrades and 6 years of security patches. It will probably get the new OriginOS 6 in the next few weeks or months.

vivo’s current version of FuntouchOS already feels complete and dated. The interface is straightforward for those new to vivo phones, but those using one for years may find it dated. A visual overhaul is badly needed, which OriginOS will provide.

Typical customizations are here, to let users personalize the interface to their liking. Music Light Effects lights up the edges of the screen on idle and acts as a notification indicator.

Space Cleanup is a built-in feature that scans your storage for junk and cleans it with a single button press.

Virtual RAM Expansion can be adjusted in the settings. You can convert up to 12GB of storage into memory, which is double the physical RAM.

We appreciate the speed and accuracy of the optical fingerprint scanner. The face unlock was never a problem, either.

We got a bunch of AI features here. AI Magic Move, as seen above, literally allows you to move subjects on the frame for better framing.

Also, here are the AI Eraser 3.0, AI Image Expander, and AI Photo Enhancer.

vivo has been highlighting its AI Four-Season Portrait. It lets you take portrait photos and lets AI transform the background so it looks like it’s taken during the Spring, Autumn, Summer, and Winter.

Other AI features are Google Gemini as the standard assistant, AI Smart Call Assistant with live transcription and translation, and AI Captions.

Cameras

The vivo V60’s cameras are identical to the flagship X200 FE. The ZEISS camera system consists of a 50-megapixel main shooter that uses a 1/1.56-inch sensor with optical image stabilization.

vivo-V60-5937

We also have the 50-megapixel IMX882 that offers 3x zoom, PDAF, and OIS. An 8-megapixel ultra-wide is also here, while the front has a 50-megapixel selfie camera with a 92-degree ultra-wide lens.

The front and rear cameras shoot videos in 720p and 1080p at 30fps and 60fps, and 4K at 30fps. We also have tons of ZEISS Multifocal Portrait modes that mimic the look of real and expensive ZEISS lenses.

Daylight shots from the main camera look good and natural. There’s no post oversaturation or over sharpening. Dynamic range is also on point.

That sharp sensor also allows for lossless zoom shots that are great for portraits. Details remain nice and clean, no problems there.

We like the overall look of the low-light shots from the main camera, even with the digital zoom and portrait mode enabled. They appear sharp as vivo unleashed its over sharpening techniques.

The 50-megapixel telephoto camera’s standard focal length is 73mm. Photos look more vibrant and have deeper contrast. 10x shots are surprisingly clean and usable. Although the shutter can get too slow in low light, so make sure the subject is standing still.

The ultra-wide camera gets a significantly inferior 8-megapixel sensor. While details are definitely lacking, the colors and contrast make up for it. Barrel distortion is handled well, and low-light performance is fine.

The 50-megapixel selfie camera takes great photos, even in low light. We still get those natural colors and nice contrast.

Autofocus worked really well, albeit people in the back will be out of focus when taking group shots.

Apart from the ultra-wide camera, the vivo V60 has a strong set of camera hardware that takes clean and natural-looking photos.

Battery and Charging

The vivo V60 5G comes with a 6,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging and support for reverse wired and bypass charging.

The vivo V60 lasted for 21 hours and 5 minutes in PCMark’s battery loop test. It joins the other two vivo V series as the top phones with the longest battery life we’ve tested in this category.

vivo-V60-Charging-Speed

Meanwhile, the 90W charger provides a full charge in only about an hour, with a 15-minute charge already providing a 25% charge. See the full charging test below:

  • 15mins: 0-25%
  • 30mins: 50%
  • 45mins: 73%
  • 1hr: FULL

Verdict

The vivo V60 used the same formula that made the series great, applied the right upgrades, to become a great daily driver for those who want more than a midrange phone but don’t want to go full flagship.

vivo-V60-Review-Unboxing

Its very sleek and durable design, extra-large battery with fast charging, consistently snappy performance, and capable cameras make for a reliable smartphone that can keep up with your busy lifestyle, whether you’re a professional or in school.

Still, we do wish it had more exciting colorways and had a better ultra-wide camera. The interface desperately needs a makeover, but we will get that in the coming months with the global release of OriginOS 6.

vivo-V60-5942

While many people may not agree with its price tag, there aren’t a lot of devices out there that have the right blend of form and function. A big battery, smooth performance, and good cameras packed in an ultra-compact and elegant body? For under Php30k, it’s really something to consider.

vivo V60 pricing and availability in the Philippines

The vivo V60 12GB/256GB has an SRP of Php28,999 and 12GB/512GB for Php30,999. It is now available in the Philippines through vivo online and offline store, and through retailers nationwide.
