To simplify its artificial intelligence offerings, Microsoft has launched a new subscription plan called Microsoft 365 Premium. It is designed to be the company’s flagship offering for individual users by deeply integrating its Copilot AI assistant across everyday apps like Outlook, Word, and Excel.
The announcement changes how Microsoft is selling AI to the public. Instead of having separate subscriptions for productivity software and the AI assistant, the company is now bundling them into one package. This comes as tech firms, including Microsoft and its partner OpenAI, compete to make money from their expensive investments in building AI infrastructures.
The new Microsoft 365 Premium plan includes the highest usage limits for the Copilot AI. It also promises exclusive new features like Researcher, Analyst, and Actions. Aside from AI access, it also bundles in 1TB of cloud storage.

Microsoft also confirmed it will stop selling its Copilot Pro plan. That plan, which was launched last year for $20 per month, was a popular add-on for AI features. Existing customers who currently pay for either Copilot Pro or a Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscription will be able to switch over to the new Premium plan.
For those who don’t want to switch, Microsoft stated that current subscribers to the Microsoft 365 Personal and Family plans will see an improvement. They will get higher usage limits on select Copilot features without any extra charge.
Microsoft 365 Premium starts at $19.99 per month or $199.99 per year.
