Forty years after the Nintendo Entertainment System hit store shelves in America, its iconic design is making a comeback. The peripheral company 8BitDo is marking the anniversary with a fresh line of products that pay tribute to the classic console.
The new series, named the 8bitDo NES40 collection, is now open for pre-orders. It consists of three items: a special gamepad, a keyboard, and a speaker, all featuring the familiar gray and red color scheme of the original NES.

A limited-run version of the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 controller serves as the centerpiece of the collection. This gamepad bundle includes a unique black adapter that lets it connect wirelessly to an actual NES, alongside four alternate thumb sticks and a R.O.B. robot keychain. The controller will cost $80 (~Php4,600) and is set to begin arriving at customers’ doors on November 18. It is designed to work with the Switch, the next generation Switch 2, Windows computers, and the original NES.

For enthusiasts seeking a high-end typing experience, 8BitDo is introducing the Retro 68 Keyboard. Constructed completely from aluminum, this 68-key board carries a price tag of $500 (~Php29,100). It is equipped with Kailh Box Ice Cream Pro Max mechanical switches and two separate wireless macro buttons. Its built-in 6500mAh battery promises up to 300 hours of use, and it can connect to Windows and Android devices. Shipping is estimated for January 2026.

The final product in the lineup is the 8bitDo Retro Cube 2 speaker. This device offers a battery life of up to 30 hours from its 2000mAh cell, an improvement over the earlier model. It can link to devices through Bluetooth, a 2.4G wireless adapter, or a USB cable, and it comes with its own charging base. Physical controls on its side mimic a classic D-pad for adjusting settings. The speaker is priced at $50 (~Php2,900) and will start shipping on December 12.
