Smart Communications has been recognized for delivering the best mobile video experience in the Philippines, according to new data from the network intelligence firm Ookla.
The company received the “Best Mobile Video Experience” award based on an analysis of customer data from the third and fourth quarters of 2025. Smart achieved a Video Score of 78.60, the highest ranking among all mobile operators in the country during that period.
Ookla’s methodology evaluates the real-world quality of streaming by measuring three key factors. These include whether videos start in under two seconds, if playback continues without interruptions or buffering, and whether the majority of streams reach 1080p high-definition resolution or higher.
For millions of customers on both the Smart brand and its value arm TNT, the recognition translates to a more reliable experience on popular platforms. Users streaming content on YouTube, TikTok, Netflix, or Facebook can expect faster load times and clearer picture quality, whether they are commuting, watching live sports, or scrolling through short-form videos.
The recognition arrives as data shows Filipinos are among the most active video consumers globally. The Digital 2026 report from Meltwater and We Are Social revealed that people in the Philippines spend an average of 20.48 hours per week watching online videos, placing them second in the world behind Kenya.
This latest award follows another recent accolade from Ookla, which named Smart as having the Best Mobile Latency in the country. Low latency, which reduces the delay in data transmission, is essential for smooth video streaming as well as for real-time activities like online gaming and video calls.
