Opening too many apps or switching rapidly between intensive programs causes noticeable UI lag. We recommend sticking to two apps side-by-side at most. The system technically supports four floating windows simultaneously, but we strongly advise against it as the performance drops off a cliff.
Gaming tells a clear story. Casual and esports titles like Mobile Legends, Call of Duty Mobile, and Asphalt 9 ran without issues. We didn’t bother with demanding mobile RPGs because the Snapdragon 680 isn’t really built for Genshin Impact-level workloads, and the 4GB RAM ceiling limits how much graphical eye candy the tablet can push. Of course, it’s possible to try it and play but expect sluggish performance.
The sweet spot is retro emulation. The Pad X8b handles GameCube titles beautifully through Dolphin or similar emulators.

Biometric security is basic. There’s no fingerprint sensor here, just PIN and pattern unlock. The face unlock for the front camera works adequately in good lighting.

Battery and Charging
Battery life is where the Pad X8b quietly excels. That 10,100mAh cell is the real headline here, and real-world endurance backs up the large capacity.
In real world use, we squeezed 2 to 3 days of solid use from a single charge, depending on intensity. Lighter usage like reading, web browsing, and occasional video easily stretches toward three days.
HONOR’s claimed figures of 22 hours of video playback and 123 hours of music streaming are optimistic but not wildly off for our test conditions.
The tradeoff is charging speed. Without fast charging support, refilling that 10,100mAh battery takes a couple of hours plugged into the included adapter. This is a device designed to charge overnight rather than top up during lunch breaks.
The included 10W charging adapter and USB-A to USB-C cable are standard. No fast charging means you won’t get quick boosts before heading out. Another reason this tablet fits best as a home or school device rather than a travel companion.
