After a long break, SEGA is bringing back the Crazy Taxi franchise. The company showed off the new game, called Crazy Taxi: World Tour, coming out in 2027.
The first look trailer featured Axel, the original driver, behind the wheel of his famous yellow cab. He speeds through streets that look a lot like old San Francisco. You can even spot a famous bridge in the background. The trailer uses the song “All I Want” by The Offspring. Later on, a new, unnamed driver appears. The video also suggests that the story will be bigger than before.

Here is what happens in the upcoming Crazy Taxi: World Tour. Someone steals Axel’s taxi. He chases the thieves across five different areas. Each area has its own special challenges. You still pick up people and drop them off before time runs out. You can also do crazy drifts, fly over jumps, and handle weird tasks that pop up along the way. Some side activities include delivering pizza and a fishing game where you can relax.
There are three main ways to play. The Campaign mode has a full story that takes you to different parts of the world. You earn cash by finishing deliveries fast and completing missions while criminals chase you. Arcade mode lets you skip the story and just try to get a high score before the timer hits zero. Meanwhile, multiplayer mode lets you play against friends or strangers online to see who is best.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.

I remember playing Crazy Taxi a lot back in the day. Curious to see how they’ll update it for 2027.
