Netflix is leaning harder into artificial intelligence. The company has now used generative AI tools on roughly 300 projects so far in 2026.
Most of this work is happening in post-production. That includes editing, visual effects, and other finishing touches after filming wraps.
The streaming service highlighted three titles where AI helped create complicated scenes. Those are an Indian movie called “Glory,” a Brazilian documentary named “Brasil 70: A Saga do Tri,” and an American project titled “The American Experiment.”

This is a big jump from last year. In July 2025, Netflix had only used this technology on one known show. Since then, the company has bought new AI studios and hired more specialists in the field.
In its recent earnings report, Netflix said the main goal is speed and savings. The company believes AI helps produce better results faster while cutting costs compared to older methods.
Of course, AI is not working alone. Human artists and editors still need to check the output. They make sure the AI-generated scenes look natural and match the rest of the movie or episode.
There is also a bigger question here. AI can save time, but it should not fully replace creative teams. Netflix and its production partners will need to find the right balance as they keep using this technology more widely.
