More subscription-based services are getting more expensive. Just recently, Apple services have become pricier, including Apple Music.
From its starting price of Php139, Apple Music Individual tier now costs Php30 more at Php169. Meanwhile, the Family tier now costs Php279, which is Php60 more expensive, while the Student tier now costs Php10 more at Php85.
First-time users can get the service for the first month free.
Reports suggest that the price increase is due to “rising licensing costs.”
Even the monthly fee for iCloud+ is now more expensive. It now costs Php59 from Php49.
This new pricing puts Apple Music in direct competition with Spotify, whose subscription tiers (Individual, Family, Student) are exactly the same.
Apple boasts that its Music service gives you access to over 100 million songs that are also available for offline listening, spatial audio and lossless audio quality, exclusive artist access and curated playlists, and works with different platforms like iOS and Android, Windows, Sonos, and smart TVs.
The Family tier has the same features, with the addition of sharing an account with up to five people via Family Sharing. Meanwhile, the Student tier comes with Apple TV for free.
