Samsung is shaking up its foldable line-up. The Galaxy Z Fold8 came out with a boxy design, which meant that the direct successor to the Galaxy Z Fold7, which has that traditional tall design, is now called the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra features a large 8-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X foldable display, with a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate and Vision Booster. A similar panel is used for the 6.5-inch cover display.
Like a true flagship, the Z Fold8 Ultra is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which was slightly tuned specifically to work better for this Samsung foldable.
It can be paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
Keeping the lights on is a relatively small 5,000mAh dual-cell battery, paired with a relatively slow 45W USB-C charger that provides a 67% charge in just half an hour.
It also boasts 20W fast wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare reverse charging.
For the cameras, there’s a 200-megapixel main camera with quad-pixel AF, optical image stabilization, and f/1.7 aperture. We also have a 50-megapixel ultra-wide and a dedicated 10-megapixel telephoto camera. Both displays have their own 10-megapixel selfie snappers.
Samsung’s latest foldables are the first to ship with the latest Android 17-based One UI 9. It then has 5G connectivity and the latest WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. It is also IP48 water-resistant.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra 12GB/256GB has a price of Php123,990, the 12GB/512GB has an SRP of Php137,990, while the 16GB/1TB can be yours for Php165,990. It will be available in the Philippines alongside the Galaxy Z Fold8, Z Flip8, Watch Ultra2, and Watch9.
