Apple has officially unveiled the new iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max.
The new iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max have a new hero color: Burgundy. It will boast the new Apple Foundation Models that improve Apple Intelligence and make Siri more “personal and capable,” as it now supports many third-party apps like calendars, note-taking apps, emails, and more.

Siri has also gained Expressive Voices, which makes the voice more customizable and expressive.
Powering the new Pro iPhones is the latest A20 Pro, boasting a 2nm process with 6-core CPUs that have 2 super cores. Apple also boasted its 7-core GPU for 40% faster performance, and Neural Accelerators that are now 2x faster for AI tasks. It also now has two Neural Engines.

Apple also boasted that they redesigned the design of the chip packaging, now akin to the M series on Macs, for better efficiency and thermals. Speaking of thermals, the vapor chamber has been beefed up for better thermal management.
For the battery, the new iPhone Pro models finally use silicone batteries, with the Max lasting for up to 30 hours on a single charge. Wireless charging was also made faster.

As for the cameras, the new iPhone 18 Pro models are getting a variable aperture on the front of the 48-megapixel main camera. Having a variable aperture lets you take brighter photos at night and a shallow depth of field. Smart Focus tracking is also a worthy addition.
Apple also beefed up the Pro mode and has added Style filters. There’s also the Apple Reference Image, which ensures that every photo taken on the iPhone is recognized and can be easily authenticated as not AI-generated.

The Dynamic Island was also improved, which now shows three live activities. AirDrop transfers are now 80% faster, too. iPhone Handoff lets you use the same number on two different iPhones.
This is a developing story…
