Xiaomi has unveiled its latest flagship phones, which are also some of the first to use Qualcomm’s all-new flagship chip. For this one, we’ll be focusing on the best of them, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is the first to use the latest 2nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme processor, paired with an unknown Adreno GPU, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of internal storage.
Like last year’s model, there’s a large 2.9-inch LTPO AMOLED secondary screen on the back, complete with a sharp resolution, high 120Hz refresh rate, and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+.
The rear display gets additional features. For one, they can now create their own mini apps using Xiaomi’s Xiao AI Assistant. Users can also create their own AI wallpapers and widgets. It can still be used for notifications, viewfinder, and more.
Photography is a big deal, of course. It has two 200-megapixel sensors. There’s one that uses a Light Hunter 960 1/1.28-inch sensor with a 23mm lens, while the other is a 200-megapixel periscope with a 3.2x zoom.
They are joined by two 50-megapixel sensors for the ultra-wide and selfies.
On the front, there’s an enormous 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 2K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 4,000-nit peak brightness, and Xiaomi Dragon Crysta Glass 3 protection.
Keeping the lights on is an 8,500mAh battery, paired with 100W wired, 50W wireless, and 27W reverse wireless charging. It will ship with Android 17-based HyperOS 4.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max has a starting price of CNY6,999 (~Php65,200) for the 12GB/256GB, while the top-tier variant with 16GB/1TB retails for CNY9,999 (~Php93,200). There’s a Special Edition with a vibrant red colorway and transparent elements for CNY10,999 (~Php102,500).
