Xiaomi has launched the new Xiaomi 18 Pro series.
We’ve detailed the all-new Xiaomi 18 Pro Max in a different article. Hence, we’ll focus on the Xiaomi 18 Pro, which has the bragging rights of being the first smartphone to ever use the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor.
There’s a 2.7-inch LTPO AMOLED secondary screen on the back, which is complete with a high 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, and HDR support.
The main screen is a compact 6.4-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a 2K resolution, and also has a high 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+. There are stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.
Keeping the lights on is a large 7,000mAh battery, aptly paired with ultra-fast 100W wired, 50W wireless, and 27W reverse wireless charging.
It ships with Android 17-based HyperOS 4. It’s quite durable, too, receiving IP69 certification for dust- and water-resistance.
We still have the Leica-backed camera system. Like the Pro Max, it has a fancy 200-megapixel Light Hunter 960 sensor, joined by another 200-megapixel sensor, but with a 3.2x periscope zoom lens.
Xiaomi also included a sharp 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and another 50-megapixel shooter for selfies.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro starts at CNY5,999 (~Php55,700) for the 12GB/512GB, and goes up to CNY8,999 (~Php83,600) for the 16GB/1TB and CNY9,999 (~Php92,900) for the Special Edition transparent red. These are Chinese prices, with the global release details to be unveiled in the coming months.
