Seiko is adding another anime-inspired design to its lineup. This time, the popular manga and anime series Fullmetal Alchemist is the star of a new limited edition timepiece.
The Seiko Fullmetal Alchemist watch is filled with visual nods to the show’s hero, Edward Elric. The dark dial features a circular red pattern that fans will recognize from the series’ alchemy scenes. Other small details are scattered across the face, including a military emblem on a smaller dial and markings shaped like the screws from Edward’s mechanical arm. The hands and the markers at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock all have a green glow in low light.

On the back of the case, there is a special engraved message. It reads “Don’t forget 3. OCT. 11,” which is a direct callback to the inscription on Edward’s own pocket watch from the story. The packaging also follows the theme. The watch comes in a red box that matches the color of Edward’s coat. Printed on the box is another quote from the series: “Stand up and walk. You have two perfectly good legs, don’t you?”

In terms of features, the watch is a chronograph model. It comes with a 12-hour stopwatch function and a tachymeter scale on the bezel. Seiko has not released many other technical specs at this time.
Right now, the Seiko Fullmetal Alchemist watch is only available for pre-order in Japan. It is being sold through the anime-focused online store AMNIBUS. The price is set at JPY65,780(~Php25,000). There is no word yet on whether this Fullmetal Alchemist watch will be sold in other countries.
