Xiaomi has announced the new Smart Band 8 Pro — one of the many high-end products it launched during its recent big event in China.

As if the 1.64-inch screen on its predecessor isn’t big enough, the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro has a 1.74-inch display with a sharper 480 x 336-pixel resolution, brighter 600-nits brightness, a smartphone-like 60Hz refresh rate, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

It is slightly heavier at 22.5g but is noticeably thinner at 9.9mm. It still has a 5ATM water resistance so you can go swimming with it. Xiaomi has also improved the battery, which can now last for up to 14 days.

The device can be had in black or silver, with 10 different straps offered by Xiaomi themselves. There’s one that uses Milanese material, three leather, two braided, and four silicone options. You can mix and match styles with more than 100 customizable watch faces.

Like all Xiaomi wearables, it has tons of activity monitoring and indoor and outdoor workout tracking. This is made possible by the 24/7 heart-rate sensor, blood oxygen (SpO2) scanner, and a built-in GPS. NFC is also added for cashless payments.

It charges via a proprietary magnetic cable, just like the other Xiaomi Bands before it.

The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro has a price of CNY399 (~Php3,100) for the silicone strap option. The leather variant comes at CNY449 (~Php3,500). Different silicone strap styles can be bought separately for CNY39 (~Php300), the braided and leather options for CNY99 (~Php800), while the Milanese is at CNY199 (~Php1,500). No word yet as to when Xiaomi Philippines will bring it to the country.
