Back in February, Alcatel announced the One Touch Idol X, a Full HD smartphone with a quad core chip. However, that phone never made it to local shores. It’s probably all for the best since Alcatel has seen fit to upgrade the One Touch Idol X and give it an octa core processor.
The Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ as it is called comes with MediaTek’s new octa core MT6592 chip, a Mali 450 GPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The Idol X+ doesn’t look that much different from its predecessor, making this more of a spec refresh than anything else. Still, it’s nice that Alcatel decided to offer an octa core smartphone for 2014.
Looking to grab the Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ once it hits Philippine shores? No word on pricing or when it will actually get here. It costs $330 in China at the moment so it will likely cost somewhere around Php18k when it gets here.
