Launching in 3, 2, 1. Boom!
With the official unveiling of the Android Nougat page, we expect to see Google roll out the update to Nexus devices in the next couple of days.
Android 7.0 Nougat will be bringing the long overdue multi-window feature to vanilla Android. Other improvements include Doze on the Go which includes battery optimizations even while the phone is in the pocket or bag, new custom quick settings, bundled notifications, direct reply, and file-based encryption.
Unfortunately, there’s still no dark theme despite being considered by Google. In my experience, Doze on the Go delays the notification on my Nexus 5X and that’s not a good thing. I hope they fix it before releasing the update to the public.

Google also confirms that the first phone that will be running Android 7.0 (aside from Nexus devices) is the LG V20.
