First unveiled last month without much fanfare, the Cloudfone Epic 7.1 and Epic 8.9 have been officially launched. It seems the Philippines is getting its dual-boot tablets after all.

We previously expressed our doubts if ever the Cloudfone Epic 7.1 and Epic 8.9 tablets would actually hit the shelves, especially when Google and Microsoft don’t exactly like the idea of having their mobile operating systems running with each other in a single device. Cloudfone has a proven us wrong, and we’re excited to see these dual-booting tablets in action.

Cloudfone Epic 7.1 Specs

  • Dual boot: Android 4.4 KitKat / Windows 8.1
  • 7-inch IPS LCD (HD resolution)
  • 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Atom processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 32GB internal storage
  • 5-megapixel main camera
  • 2-megapixel front camera
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • USB OTG support

Both the Cloudfone Epic 7.1 and Epic 8.9 are powered by Intel Atom processors. Every time users turn power up these tablets, they get to choose which operating system to boot: Windows 8.1 or Android 4.4 KitKat. The specs between the two are similar save the differences in screen sizes and amount of RAM.

      1. if Cloudfone will update both OSes (windows 10/android lollipop) that would be the best and sweetest deal on a tablet, YET!

        1. You can update to Windows 10 on your own, but lollipop, I think you have to nudge Cloudfone to do that.
