HMD had introduced a new line of devices under its own brand. Check out the new HMD Crest and Crest Max, the first devices made and available in India.
The HMD Crest and Crest Max are essentially the same device. They are both powered by a UNISOC T760 processor, a 5G-capable chip. They also have 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED displays, 5,000mAh batteries, and 33W fast charging.
Their key difference is in the cameras, RAM/storage configurations, and colors. For the HMD Crest Max, we have a 64-megapixel main shooter, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. It will ship with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
Meanwhile, the vanilla HMD Crest has a 50-megapixel main camera, a depth sensor, a 6GB/128GB configuration, and is only available in Blue. Both models will have the same 50-megapixel selfie cameras.
The duo also has HMD’s Gen 1 repairability, which means that the screen, charging port, battery, and rear panel can be easily replaced or repaired.
It will ship with the Android 14 operating system. Unlike their other releases, HMD didn’t mention how long or if it will ever receive major Android upgrades in the future. But, they did commit to 2 years of security patches.
The HMD Crest 6GB/128GB has a price of INR14,499 (~Php10,100) while the HMD Crest Max 8GB/256GB comes in at INR16,499 (~Php11,500). and will be available in India this August.
