HONOR has a new foldable phone that’s faster, lighter, and thinner than its predecessor. Meet the HONOR Magic Vs.
The HONOR Magic Vs uses the same tablet-like form factor. The main foldable screen uses a large 7.9-inch OLED panel with a 2272 x 1984 pixel resolution and 90Hz refresh rate.
HONOR brags that, unlike the previous foldable, this one wouldn’t have creases. It also works with the new Magic Pen stylus that pairs with the device via Bluetooth.
On the outside, we have a more normal-looking 6.45-inch OLED screen at 2560 x 1080 pixel resolution. It also has a 10-bit color like the main one, but for this one, you’re getting a higher 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support.
The company has also improved the hinge, which it says can last for up to 400,000 folds. That translates to more than 10 years of usage with 100 folds per day.
Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. Sadly, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 didn’t get to make it. You can pair it with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
The HONOR Magic Vs has a 54-megapixel IMX800 sensor on the back, joined by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and an 8-megapixel telephoto that can do up to 3x optical zoom. There’s a 16-megapixel selfie camera on the cover display, while the one on the main screen was not mentioned.
It ships with the also-new Android 13-based MagicOS 7.0, a 5,000mAh battery, and 66W fast charging.
The HONOR Magic Vs is available in 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB models for a price of CNY7,499, CNY7,999, and CNY8,999, respectively. The Vs Ultimate variant with a Magic Pen stylus and 16GB of RAM retails for CNY10,888. It is now up for pre-order in China and will be available on November 30. Release details in the Philippines are yet to be known.
