Huawei just launched the Nova Y90 carrying a couple of modern specs for those who want a budget phone that packs a punch.

The Huawei Nova Y90 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 octa-core processor, a 4G-only chipset paired with a generous 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage.

Big on numbers, the Nova Y90 has an enormous 6.7-inch LCD screen with an FHD+ pixel resolution. It has a smooth 90Hz refresh rate and a high 270Hz touch sampling for better responsiveness when gaming.

A punch-hole in the middle houses the 8-megapixel selfie snapper. While on the back, we have a sharp 50-megapixel main camera joined by two 2-megapixel shooters for the depth sensor and a macro lens. Sadly, no ultra-wide for this one.

Keeping the lights on is a standard 5,000mAh battery paired with a 40W SuperCharge adapter. Huawei claims it can go from 0% to 50% in just half an hour.

It then ships with EMUI 12 operating system. Without full Google support, it would’ve been nice to see this run on Huawei’s own HarmonyOS.

The new Huawei Nova Y90 will come in Pearl White, Emerald Green, Midnight Black, and Crystal Blue. The official price and availability details are yet to be known.
