Meizu has introduced a new sub-flagship smartphone in China called the Meizu 21 Note, which features an old but still reliable processor, a fast and colorful display, a large battery, fast charging, and more.
The new Meizu 21 Note joins the growing Meizu 21 series with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, a flagship chip from about two years ago. It has 16GB of RAM and two storage options: 256GB and 512GB.
On the front, we have a pretty beefy display that uses a 6.78-inch 8T LTPO OLED panel with a 1.2K resolution, 1-144Hz adaptive refresh rate, and a very bright 5,000-nits of peak brightness.
A 16-megapixel selfie camera is on the top of the display. On the back, we have a sharp 50-megapixel 1/1.56-inch sensor with a wide f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization. It is joined by a 13-megapixel ultra-wide glass and a ring flash on the back that looks like can change colors to match the hues of the subject.
Another piece of interesting hardware is the 5,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging. It also has an IP65 dust and water resistance rating.
For the software, the 12 Note runs on the Flyme AIOS with no mention of any Android versions. It offers generative AI capabilities, real-time translations, call screening, and more. There’s also Flyme Link, which pairs seamlessly with select vehicles from Meizu’s new parent company, Geely.
The Meizu 21 Note has a price of CNY2,599 (~Php21,200) and CNY2,799 (~Php22,800) for the 16GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB versions, respectively. They will be available in China on May 20 while international release details yet to be known.
