Motorola is back with new and interesting releases. Today, we have the new Motorola Edge.
The new Motorola Edge boasts some of the key features that its flagship counterpart has, the Motorola Edge Plus. But since it’s geared for the midrange market, the non-Plus model only comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, which is an acceptable compromise to the Snapdragon 865 processor that the former has.
This processor allowed the Moto Edge to have 5G connectivity, but only on a single-band sub-6Ghz network. The memory was also slashed to 4GB and 6GB options from 12GB, and the 256GB storage to 128GB.
Just like the Plus model, the Motorola Edge will sport the same 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen, with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate, curved corners, in-display fingerprint scanner, but no HDR 10+ support. There’s a punch-hole on the top left of the screen for the 25-megapixel selfie camera.
The 108-megapixel main camera was also downgraded to a 64-megapixel on the vanilla Motorola Edge. Albeit, the 16-megapixel ultra-wide and ToF sensors were kept. The 8-megapixel telephoto lens is still here, but only with 2x optical zoom. No mention of optical image stabilization in any of the cameras so they might have been removed.
We also have a smaller 4,500mAh battery with 18W fast charging, but without wireless charging support.
The Motorola Edge has a price of EUR599 (~Php32,800) and will be available in select parts of Europe, Asia Pacific, and Latin America this May 2020.
