The OPPO Reno 8 series has just gotten a successor with the release of the new Reno 9 and 9 Pro in China.
Both the OPPO Reno 9 and 9 Pro looks a lot alike as they share some key features. For one, the duo has a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display, which makes them look and feel premium. The panel has an FHD+ pixel resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color, and is protected by Asahi Glass AGC DT-Star2.
They also weigh similarly as they share the same 4,700mAh battery with 67W fast wired charging.
For the differences, the Pro variant uses a more powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max CPU with a generous 16GB of RAM, while the cheaper variant has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset with up to 12GB of memory. On the upside, they both come with a MariSIlicon X NPU, which unlocks a couple of photography prowess.
Speaking of which, the Pro variant boasts an advanced 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 sensor joined by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide. Next to it is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens.
As for the vanilla model, you’re getting a 64-megapixel main shooter with a less usable 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. On the upside, they share the same 32-megapixel RGBW selfie-snapper with auto-focus capabilities.

The OPPO Reno 9 has a price of CNY2,499 (around Php19,800) for the 8GB/256GB model, CNY2,699 (around Php21,400) for the 12GB/256GB, and CNY2,999 (around Php23,800) for the 12GB/512GB.
Meanwhile, the Pro model comes with a whopping 16GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB variants for CNY3,499 (around Php27,800) and CNY3,799 (around Php30,200), respectively. They will be available in China come December 2 and will hopefully land in the Philippines in time for the holiday season.
