POCO has introduced the new C51, a new entry-level smartphone powered by a fresh chipset from MediaTek.
The new POCO C51 uses the new MediaTek Helio G36 processor that came out in February. It’s an octa-core chip with up to 2.2GHz speeds and PowerVR GE8320 graphics.
Everything else looks pretty standard for a sub-Php5,000 smartphone. It has a decent 6.52-inch HD+ LCD display like what others have, as well as the usual 5,000mAh battery. It also has a slow 10W charger that plugs through the old microUSB port.

For the software, the new C51 ships with the power-friendly Android 13 Go Edition. For good measure, Xiaomi ensured that there was a fingerprint scanner on the back.

Also back here are the dual cameras led by an 8-megapixel main shooter and a VGA accomplice that works as a depth sensor. As expected, there’s only a 5-megapixel selfie camera on the front.

The new POCO C51 has an SRP of INR8,499 (~Php5,700) for the sole 4GB/64GB model. It will be available in India through Flipkart starting April 12 at 12NN with an introductory price of INR7,799 (~Php5,200).
