Entry-level phones are for those who are looking for their first smartphone, who want a backup device, or who just need a really affordable daily driver. If you’re one of any of those, then check out the new Redmi A2 and A2 Plus.

Essentially the same, the only difference between the Redmi A2 and A2 Plus is the fingerprint scanner exclusively available to the latter. Other than that, they are basically the same smartphone.

The duo is powered by the budget-friendly MediaTek Helio G36 octa-core processor, which you can pair with either 2GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. They also have the standard 5,000mAh battery with 10W support. Sadly, to keep the price really down, they only get to have a microUSB port.

They then have 5-megapixel selfie cameras and managed to have two shooters on the back: 8-megapixel and a QVGA depth sensor.

As expected, they will ship with Android 12 Go Edition to keep things efficient and running as smoothly as possible.

Obviously, both are capped at 4G LTE connectivity, so no 5G.
