Xiaomi has finally announced the Redmi Note 13 series, which includes the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus, the best of the three models.
Obviously, the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus will have top-notch specs, but let’s admire its design first. The Purple variant looks particularly interesting with its vegan leather back with cube accents in the camera area. It also comes in Black and White colors that have AG frosted rear panels.
Oh, and there’s also a special A Bathing Ape edition with green colors and camouflage accents. It’s complete with matching packaging and pre-installed themes.
Now, let’s talk about the upgrades. The Note 13 Pro Plus is the first Redmi phone to have an IP68 rating for being dust and water-resistant. That’s quite an achievement from a bang-for-the-buck smartphone.
The overall design and build look really premium, especially with the curved 6.67-inch OLED screen on the front — complete with a high 120Hz refresh rate, 12-bit color, high 1,920Hz PWM dimming, and 1800 nits of peak brightness. It’s even protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, which we only see on high-end phones.
We also have an optical in-display fingerprint scanner on the screen and a 16-megapixel selfie camera on top. A stereo speaker setup completed the multimedia experience.
On the back, we have an ultra-sharp 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP3 camera sensor from Samsung. Quite impressive, but is actually the same one used on its predecessor. It is joined by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide and 2-megapixel macro lens.
Under the hood, it is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra processor mated to a large 4000mm² graphite sheet and vapor cooling heat sink for better thermals. You can pair it with up to a whopping 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Keeping the lights on is the usual 5,000mAh battery with a blazing-fast 120W wired charging. Handling the software is the Android 13-based MIUI 14.
The Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus will be available in China starting September 26 with a price of CNY1,999 (~Php15,500) for the 12GB/256GB and CNY2,299 (~Php17,900) for the 16GB/512GB. Local availability should be announced by Xiaomi Philippines soon.
