Even in the early days, Samsung made some of the most ambitious mobile phones in the market. One of the most popular ones was the Samsung E700 flip phone, and the tech giant is paying homage to the 20-year-old product by releasing the limited edition Galaxy Flip 5 Retro.
The special Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro will feature the classic indigo blue and silver colors of the E700 — complete with the pixel graphics UI and cityscape animation on the cover screen.
It then ships with a pretty hefty package that includes Flipsuit cards with stickers of different Samsung logos over the years. There’s also a special Samsung E700 collector card with a unique serial number engraved.
The rest of the specs should be the same. There’s the 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED foldable display, a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED cover screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, 8GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of non-expandable storage.
It also has a 3,700mAh battery, 25W wired and 15W wireless charging, AKG-tuned stereo speakers, a 10-megapixel selfie camera, a 12-megapixel primary shooter with OIS, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide.
The official price of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is yet to be known but it will be sold in limited quantities in South Korea on November 1 and in France, Germany, the UK, Spain, and Australia on the 2nd. Alternatively, you can get the standard version in the Philippines for a starting price of Php64,990.
