Smartphones have become so advanced that we’re already seeing capable entry-level phones. So is there still a market for quad-core phones? TECNO Mobile thinks so as it just released the new Pop 5x.
The TECNO Pop 5X uses an unnamed quad-core processor. If we were to guess, it could be a UNISOC SC9832E, the same one found on the iTel Vision 1Pro, which looks like this device is based on.

It has a pretty decent body, with a standard 6.5-inch HD+ screen, and a waterdrop notch for a 5-megapixel selfie camera. While on the back we have an 8-megapixel main shooter joined by two QVGA sensors and a fingerprint scanner for security.

Meanwhile, the battery capacity matches the price segment it’s in, but not the overall hardware. Unlike most 6.5-inch phones, this one only has a 4,000mAh battery instead of 5,000mAh. It then runs on a power-efficient Android 10 Go operating system.
The TECNO Pop 5x made its debut in Mexico and retails for MXN2,000 (around Php4,900).
