Ever since the sudden explosion of generative artificial intelligence, as exemplified by ChatGPT, just about every tech product today has undergone an overhaul and integrated AI into its core function. Knowing it’s a game-changer in the industry, smartphone maker vivo has developed its own AI system called BlueLM.
Just as how the competition is introducing AI into their devices, vivo will be the integrating BlueLM into its upcoming flagship V30 Pro to give it “an advance level of intelligent interaction” through various applications of machine learning—image recognition, speech recognition, and natural language processing. BlueLM is also designed to improve and get functionally better by adapting to the behaviors and demands of its users.

So what kind of intelligent interaction users can enjoy from BlueLM? For starters, through voice commands they can receive smart notifications, real-time translations, and quick access to information. Vivo says their tech can be used for handling photos, as the AI can be used to identify objects and scenes and recognize faces to aid in image editing and sharing. Simply put, BlueLM is meant to deliver an enhanced user experience.
Privacy is a major concern surrounding AI (and the Philippines already has enough on its plate). Vivo assures users their data security and privacy are top priority. BlueLM utilizes modern encryption technologies and adheres to strict privacy protection protocols. The users themselves are allowed to customize their privacy settings extensively and decide what information they are willing to use and share with the AI.
