It’s been proven that there’s a huge demand for flip foldable phones. Hence, vivo also made one: the new vivo X Flip.
Like other prominent such as the Find N2 Flip and the Galaxy Z Flip, the vivo X Flip has a 6.74-inch foldable screen. It is an LTPO AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.
It then has a 3-inch AMOLED cover screen, which is similar to what OPPO’s flip phone has. Only this time, it’s placed horizontally above the primary cameras.
The second screen on this one has more use. Other than showing the time, and notifications, and acting as a viewfinder for taking selfies with the main cameras, it can also show maps, social media, and more. vivo is working with more developers so they can utilize this new screen.
Speaking of cameras, vivo continues to work with ZEISS, and they make it very apparent with the logo on the camera lens. It has a 50-megapixel IMX866V main camera with optical image stabilization and a sharp 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens. It then has a 32-megapixel selfie camera might on the main display.
vivo also boasts the hinge on the X Flip, which is sturdy enough to stand at a 90-degree angle for hands-free selfies.
Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor with 12GB of RAM and an option between 256GB and 512GB of storage.
Finally, there’s a 4,400mAh battery with decent 44W fast charging. It then ships with Android 13-based OriginOS 3.
The vivo X Flip is available in 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB variants for a price of CNY5,999 (~Php48,700) and CNY6,699 (~Php54,400), respectively. They will be initially available in China with the launch for the global market yet to be known.
