vivo has recently introduced a new addition to its Y series of smartphones in the Indian market. As a budget-friendly device, the latest model boasts several impressive specifications that promise value despite its cost-conscious positioning.
The newly launched vivo Y18 features a 6.56-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution. The display is certified by TUV Rheinland for eye comfort and can reach up to 840 nits in peak brightness, making it suitable for use in various lighting conditions. In addition, the display also offers a 90Hz refresh rate for a smoother visual experience.
At the heart of the Y18 is the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, partnered with 4GB of RAM for sufficient multitasking capability. The phone comes with 128GB of onboard storage, which can be increased via a microSD card slot. Furthermore, the smartphone supports virtual RAM expansion, allowing an additional 4GB of RAM to boost performance.

For photography enthusiasts, the vivo Y18 is equipped with a 50-megapixel dual-camera setup on the back and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
The device is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging. It’s important to note that the retail package does not include a charging brick, similar to recent Apple and Samsung releases. Other significant features of the Y18 include the FunTouch OS 14, based on Android 14, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, and an IP54 rating.

The base model of the vivo Y18, featuring 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage, is priced at 8,999 INR (~Php8,200). There is also a variant with 4GB of RAM and 128GB storage, available at 9,999 INR (~Php6,800). Consumers can purchase the smartphone from the vivo eStore in two color options: Gem Green and Space Black.
